2011 Randy's Red

2011 Randy's Red

The 2011 Randy's Red is an elegant blend made up of 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah. The Syrah provides great color and loads of dark fruit while the Grenache adds a bright fruit component. This wine shows an intense smoky characteristic, blackberry and raspberry notes, followed by black currant and cherry. Supple tannis with a hint of clove round out the finish. The fruit comes from the Record Family Vineyard located in the rolling hills of Northern San Luis Obispo County.  We harvested the fruit between 25-26 Brix, it was then de-stemmed and fermented in small open top lots. The fermentation began with a cold soak with dry ice for 24 hours before inoculation with specialized vineyard isolate yeast. Dry ice helps to slow and protect the fermenting must allowing for a slow and cool fermentation. This method helps to promote a more floral fruit forward characteristic in the finished wine. After an extended maceration the wine is gently pressed to select French oak barrels to age for 16 months before bottle.

Haven't had the wine. Just saw Man Fire Food episode and thought I'd check out your website. Looks great. But I just want to tell you after reading the copy about Randy's Red, there a few type-o's and mispelled words.
