As matriarch of the Record Family, Anne Record’s rich farming history along with her background in education and horticulture compliments Record Family Wines. Growing up in rural Hemet, California surrounded by lush farmland Anne developed a profound affection for plants, which lead her to Cal Poly Pomona where she earned a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and received her teaching credentials. Working in restaurants during college she developed an appreciation for fine wine.
After teaching agriculture at Hemet High School she started her own successful business as an interior plant consultant. Anne working alongside Randy in RGR Farming Company, which kept her connection to the land, but her passion for teaching brought her back to education. A Masters Degree in counseling set the stage for a 20-year teaching career.
Anne’s love of family drew her to the Central Coast. While daughters, Tricia and Mindy, both attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo she grew fond of the area and specifically Paso Robles finding it unpretentious and warm. Discovering the Paso Robles area had fruitful land and opportunity for new farming ventures, Anne and Randy purchased the 110-acre property, Paso de Record, in the Estrella District AVA. Although grapes are sold to many Paso Robles winemakers, the family keeps selected fruit for their own boutique brand, Record Family Wines founded in 2009.
